Vodafone Internet Fair leads the way in Internet education in Ghana

Busy market women, shop keepers, food venders, shoppers, motorists in and around the Rawlings Park, a brisk business centre inside Accra’s business district for the first time had the opportunity to experience Vodafone’s 3G fastest internet services, thanks to Vodafone Internet Fair – a nationwide public event aimed at bringing the knowledge and skills of the internet to thousands of individuals and households across the country. With the hectic nature of their business, these traders who ply their trade within the hub are not able to avail themselves to the various benefits and opportunities that the internet provides hence a move to plug in an internet fair that would help draw traders and shoppers attention on the need to get connected also through the use of the internet. The Fair supported by Opera Mini, Samsung and Huaweiforms part of Vodafone’s commitment to spreading internet connectivity and exposing Ghanaians to the immense benefits of online connectivity and also offer Ghanaians access to the various internet bundles and innovative devices available at Vodafone to suit their lifestyles Speaking to Biztechafrica about the fair, the Director of Marketing at Vodafone Ghana, Agnes Emefa Essah pointed out that with due to the availability of Vodafone's world class network,the internet has become more mobile, faster and convenient. “The internet holds immense benefits for the people of Ghana and can totally transform how we live. At Vodafone, we are keen on improving digital inclusion as a means of increasing citizens’ value in education, business, family and social activities”. With our world class network, the internet has become more mobile, faster and convenient. We believe we can offer increased opportunities for more people to get online and take advantage of the immense wealth of knowledge” she added. The Head of Product and Services, Marketing Mr. Steve Asumadu Sakyi who led the Vodafone team to conduct the fair told Biztechafrica that the Vodafone will be visiting the ten region of Ghana in the next six months to meet and interact with customers and enlightened them on the value preposition that Vodafone Ghana have. The fairs coincide with a period of great excitement for the telecommunications giant; having been ranked the best in voice clarity and 3G internet speed by an independent research agency; as well as sweeping three key awards at the just-ended Ghana Telecom Awards including ‘Mobile Broadband Service of the Year’, ‘Best Wholesale Company’ and ‘Telecom Business of the Year’.
